Peripheral Vascular Studies

Our physicians include cardiologists, peripheral vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists and are widely recognized for their development of percutaneous treatment devices for patients with peripheral artery disease.  We are starting new procedures to treat osteoporosis, fibroid tumors, and kidney interventions, to name a few.

Diagnostic Procedures are a way of indentifying any blockages in areas other than the heart, including kidneys, arms, legs, head, neck or abdominal area.

Angioplasty, also known as Peripheral Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA), is the practice of using a balloon to dilate the blockage.

Stents are metal scaffolding that is implanted to help hold open the blockage and keep the vessel open to increase blood flow.

Thrombectomy/Embolectomy is a way of removing a clot. This is different from atherectomy in that they either use medications to break down the clot or go in with a vacuum-like device.
