Access to Results
Patients have the right to access their lab test results, however, we are bound by guidelines set forth by the California Department of Health.
You must have written authorization from your physician to obtain results for personal use.
The guidelines allow us to release results to the physician or to forward results to a physician of your choice for review or "second opinion."
Sequoia Hospital Laboratory will provide you with a copy of results if we have received written authorization from your doctor. We will, with your written authorization, forward copies to any physician that you choose.
Laboratory employees are not allowed to interpret or discuss your results with you. Any questions that you may have regarding the results of your tests should be discussed with your physician.
