Complete Services for the Psychiatric Patient
Sequoia offers inpatient services to treat the adult psychiatric patient. The mental health unit has 22-beds, is hospital-based, and crisis-intervention oriented.
As long as the patient's primary diagnosis is psychiatric, the unit is also equipped to treat a patient's medical condition.
Patients who come to the hospital and need a crisis evaluation are seen in the Emergency Department for evaluation, intervention and initial diagnosis.
Patients who are located in other units of the hospital and experience a change in mental status while hospitalized may be seen and evaluated at the request of their physician. Crisis workers who see patient's family members experiencing emotional trauma are offered support and referral to various community resources.
