Sequoia’s Surgical Services
Sequoia Hospital is committed to providing innovative and exceptional healthcare to Bay Area patients. Our expert surgical teams work together to ensure you and your family receive the highest quality care. They provide outstanding treatment by staying abreast of the latest surgical techniques and developments.
Sequoia Hospital remains a leader in quality and safety initiatives. We participate in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP). ACS NSQIP is the first nationally validated, outcomes-based program used to measure and improve the quality of surgical care.
Healthgrades ranked Sequoia one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for General Surgery. We also received Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award for General Surgery three years in a row (2010 to 2012).
An informed patient is usually more relaxed and more likely to have a smoother recovery. Our Pre-Op Department is designed to assist patients who are scheduled for surgery or a medical procedure. Our process allows you to learn more about Sequoia Hospital and to connect with one of our Short Stay Unit registered nurses. Questions about your hospital stay can be answered and any pre-surgery testing requested by your doctor can be completed.
Please remember to call the Pre-Op Department (650-367-5545) as soon as your surgery is scheduled
to discuss registration and the pre-surgery process. Please complete any paperwork given to you by your doctor’s office, including a list of all of your medications, and bring it to your appointment with the Pre-Op nurse. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Pre-Op Department. We strive to meet all of your needs throughout your visit to ensure your satisfaction.
Sequoia Hospital offers two surgical services:
- Same-day surgery allows you to have your procedure and return home the same day to recover in the comfort of familiar surroundings. Patients must be accompanied home by an adult.
- A.M. admissions service allows you to arrive at the hospital the morning of your surgery and stay for one or more nights, as your doctor recommends.
