Parking Information for Employees
We're very excited to begin the first phase of our rebuilding process, the new parking structure. Construction has begun and the main driveway on Alameda de las Pulgas will be closed for the duration of the parking garage project. The new hospital entrance is on Whipple Avenue.

The garage construction will only take a year, during which there will be very limited on-site parking. All day shift employees have been assigned a parking location by their manager. Parking for evening and night shift employees will not change. Volunteers are encouraged to use free valet parking in the front of the hospital. Volunteers will not need to park off-site.
Parking is available at the Upland garage and off-site at two near-by churches- St. Matthias Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- with shuttle service available at no cost to employees. The shuttle picks up and drops off curbside at the outpatient lobby entrance every 10 minutes with continuous transportation to off-site parking between 4:45 AM and 7:30 PM. Please remember that the parking lots are used by church members on the weekends, so no employees will be able to leave their cars over the weekend.
Employees must park in their assigned locations. We strongly encourage employees not to park in the neighborhoods out of respect for our neighbors.
Your manager has distributed a color coded parking permit that will hang from your rear-view mirror. The color of your tag corresponds to your parking location:
- Blue parking permits: park off-site at either St. Matthias Catholic Church or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
- Green parking permits: park at 2940 Whipple (where the Sleep Center is located).
- Red parking permits: park at the Upland garage.
- Yellow parking permits: park at 2900 Whipple (where the medical office building is located).
For employees who wish to use Caltrain we provide free shuttle service to and from the Redwood City station on the hour and 1/2 hour from 6:00 AM to 9 AM and then 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Visit the Caltrain website to view train schedules.
For employees needing transportation to off-site parking or Caltrain beyond the normal shuttle service hours, taxi vouchers or the security van transport are provided at no charge. Employees who wish to bike to work can use the new locked bike area located in the upper 2940 garage.
